Key Responsibilities
As a Supervisor Airport Services (Baggage), your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring adequate staff availability during peak hours and supporting the resource allocation process.
- Motivating and mentoring team members to maintain discipline, grooming standards, and customer service excellence.
- Conducting performance reviews and supporting employee development through Development Plans for frontline staff.
- Identifying operational lapses and implementing corrective measures to maintain service quality and on-time performance.
- Managing baggage arrivals, including baggage stores, PIR counter, call centre, and delivery operations.
- Assisting passengers with mishandled baggage and ensuring timely updates regarding their belongings.
- Coordinating with Customer Affairs, dnata Airport Services, and other Emirates departments to resolve baggage-related issues.
- Approving interim relief payments and managing petty cash, ensuring cost-effective transport use for baggage delivery.
- Ensuring all unclaimed baggage is safely stored and updated in the World Tracer System within four hours of flight arrival.
- Monitoring baggage tracing processes to minimize passenger inconvenience and ensuring smooth handovers to the Central Baggage Tracing Office (CBTO).
- Reporting service flaws, trends, and baggage delivery performance to the Baggage Services Manager for further improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
To qualify for this position, candidates must have:
- Proven experience in Airport Operations.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- The ability to manage and motivate teams under pressure while maintaining customer service standards.
Preferred qualifications include:
- EKAS Leadership Foundation Certificate (for internal Emirates candidates).
- A valid Aerobridge License (for roles in safety-sensitive gate operations).
- Prior supervisory experience in a customer service role, preferably within a major airline.
