Job Purpose
As a Chief Driver at dnata Travel, your main role will be to allocate loaders and drivers to meet dnata’s operational commitments to customer airlines. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient handling of aircrafts and maintaining the highest safety and performance standards on the airside.
This position is crucial for the seamless functioning of dnata’s operations, requiring leadership, coordination, and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate loaders and drivers to handle aircraft based on load requirements, flight numbers, and schedules.
- Monitor attendance and punctuality of assigned staff.
- Supervise large teams, ensuring discipline and adherence to safety procedures.
- Coordinate with the team leader for driver reallocations in case of flight delays or disruptions.
- Manage fuel refilling operations for all vehicles during non-peak periods.
- Ensure timely dispatch and maintenance of equipment by coordinating with the engineering department.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for the Chief Driver position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Minimum of 10 years of schooling or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 1 year of driving experience with a sound understanding of airside operations.
- License: Valid RTA CAT 3 Light Vehicle License (mandatory).
- Language Skills: Knowledge of Arabic or Hindi is an advantage.
- Airport Knowledge: Familiarity with all ramp areas at Dubai International Airport is preferred.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
