Job Purpose
The Porter – EKAS role is designed to support the airport service teams by handling baggage, assisting passengers, and ensuring trolleys and other airport equipment are managed efficiently. This is a physically active position that requires excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload passenger baggage and cargo shipments as per standard operating procedures.
- Ensure baggage and goods are tagged and handled correctly, and report any damage or safety issues immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in designated airport areas.
- Collect and distribute trolleys and baby strollers to meet passenger demand throughout the terminal.
- Report and replace damaged or unclean equipment as required.
- Follow billing and cash handling procedures accurately.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Handle pharmaceutical cargo following EU GDP guidelines when applicable.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy baggage or equipment (more than 30 kilograms).
- Ability to read and understand basic English instructions and communicate clearly.
- Willingness to work shifts in a dynamic and high-pressure airport environment.
