Job Purpose
The Terminal Services Controller is responsible for planning, reviewing, and controlling dnata Cargo’s operational activities across UAE cargo terminals. The role ensures that contractual commitments, customer priorities, and regulatory requirements are met without compromising safety or performance. This position also oversees tracing functions, ECC operations, and special cargo handling to deliver world-class service to airline and logistics customers.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Planning & Control
- Plan cargo volumes, manpower, and equipment requirements from one week to 24 hours in advance
- Monitor terminal operations to ensure efficiency, cost control, and service continuity
- Review deployment of manpower and equipment based on operational demand and skill requirements
Leadership & Performance Management
- Manage direct reports and ensure tasks are completed within agreed timelines
- Provide daily operational briefings and monitor performance against KPIs
- Support training, development, and career growth of team members
Special Cargo & Regulatory Compliance
- Act as a focal point for special cargo products such as:
- Dangerous Goods
- Pharmaceuticals
- Perishables
- Live Animals
- Ensure full compliance with IATA, ICAO, GCAA, CEIV, ISO, and UAE regulations
- Coordinate with authorities including Dubai Customs, Airport Authorities, and Police
Continuous Improvement & Safety
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to safety management systems
- Lead improvement initiatives across terminals for unified processes
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Degree with certification in Air Cargo or Cargo Ground Handling
- 6–8 years of experience in air cargo or logistics operations
- Valid UAE Driving License and Airport Driving Permit
- Strong knowledge of cargo terminal systems (Camsys, DSSm, ALTARS, CMS)
- Advanced communication, leadership, and safety awareness skills
- Proficient IT and reporting capabilities
