Job Synopsis
The Equipment Operator will be responsible for sorting, moving, loading, and unloading baggage, cargo, mail, and hand luggage to and from aircraft under proper supervision. This includes manual handling tasks and ensuring the correct and safe use of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) after receiving appropriate training and authorization.
- Check cargo holds for any abnormalities, damage, or unidentified items and immediately report findings.
- Perform basic equipment checks before and after use to ensure machinery is in good working condition.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety and operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all UAE laws, Etihad Airport Services guidelines, and customer airline procedures regarding quality, security, and special cargo handling.
- Report safety incidents, operational issues, or near misses using the company’s formal reporting channels.
