About the Role
The Equipment Operator will perform assigned ground handling duties while following airport regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), federal requirements and international aviation standards. The position requires safe operation of authorised GSE and ground service vehicles after completing the required training and competency assessment.
The operator will also work closely with supervisors, controllers, ground handling teams, airlines and other departments to support smooth airport operations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment and Ramp Operations
- Report to the assigned supervisor at the beginning of each shift.
- Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and complete checklists.
- Report equipment defects and ensure only serviceable equipment is used.
- Operate authorised GSE and ground service vehicles after qualification.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and proper operating condition.
- Support efficient equipment utilisation and fuel conservation.
- Follow airside driving rules and aircraft safety clearances.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow airport regulations, safety procedures and SOPs.
- Conduct routine Foreign Object Debris (FOD) inspections.
- Perform wing-walking duties when required.

- Support accident, incident, hazard investigations and risk assessments.

- Follow QHSSE requirements and emergency procedures.
Communication and Support
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and ground handling teams.
- Provide operational support to ramp staff and aircraft cleaners when required.
