This important operational role is based in Sharjah, UAE, within the Cargo Department. Role Overview
Purpose of the Job
The primary role of an Airport Agent – Cargo is to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient loading and unloading of passenger baggage and freight. The job supports the smooth turnaround of aircraft and maintains high performance standards in line with customer airline service-level agreements.
Area of Responsibility
- Airside – Ramp & Cargo Operations
Key Responsibilities
Aircraft Handling & Ramp Operations
- Assist the Team Leader in achieving smooth aircraft turnarounds.
- Follow the Team Leader’s instructions to ensure safe and timely service delivery.
- Load and unload baggage and cargo from aircraft efficiently.
- Collect and properly dispose of F.O.D. (Foreign Object Debris).
- Follow all Airport Notices, operational guidelines, and company instructions.
- Perform wingman duties and escort passengers when required.
- Escort staff who are using temporary passes.
- Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety rules.
- Report any non-compliance or unsafe practices promptly.
Operational Standards
- Uphold airport security procedures at all times.
- Represent Sharjah Aviation Services with professionalism.
- Work across different operational areas based on workload requirements.
- Complete required operational reports accurately each day.
- Follow correct tie-down procedures as per IATA standards.
- Ensure compliance with Sharjah Aviation Services, customer airline, and regulator policies.
- Maintain company uniform and grooming standards.
- Handle airline and company equipment with care to prevent damage.
Loader Responsibilities
- Collect gate items for loading.
- Unload baggage or items and deliver them to gate lounge or aircraft side.
Porterage Responsibilities
- Safely collect and transport passenger luggage to designated areas.
- Handle arriving and departing passengers’ baggage with care.
- Provide accurate information about luggage-related charges and ensure payment is collected.
- Promote Hala Services (wrapping, quick check-in, etc.) and convert enquiries into sales when possible.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field
- Ability to read and write in English
