Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate processing, verification, and reconciliation of revenue-related financial transactions. The Junior Accountant will handle proration, tax exceptions, fare audits, customer account reconciliation, and revenue reporting. The position requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles to support Emirates’ large-scale financial operations.
You will also be responsible for generating financial entries, processing refunds, managing exceptions in accounting systems, and ensuring timely resolution of disputes or discrepancies. Your work contributes directly to Emirates’ revenue accuracy and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
General Revenue Accounting
- Process revenue accounting transactions, raise invoices, perform reconciliations, and conduct fare/refund audits.
- Clear system exceptions and ensure updates are aligned with ISO procedures.
- Identify discrepancies, coordinate with internal/external stakeholders, and maintain preventive and detective controls.
- Support Supervisor or Officer with monthly closing activities and ad-hoc financial tasks.
Passenger Flown Revenue
- Amend fare construction strings to comply with IATA standards.
- Resolve proration exceptions using the RAPID system by validating journey details and reviewing ticket data.
- Handle tax exceptions, compute collectible taxes, and ensure they match collected amounts.
- Perform yield and fare checks to verify system accuracy.
Interline and Accounting Operations
- Reconcile sales, revenue clearing, and interline accounts to maintain accurate balances.
- Generate accounting entries related to accruals, reversals, exchange differences, and revenue adjustments.
- Prepare invoices, billing memos, credit notes, and audit inward bills after approvals.
- Raise rejections when discrepancies are found and follow established finance procedures.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
To qualify for the role, candidates must have:
- 3+ years of experience in Finance or Insurance Accounts
- Strong finance or accounting background

- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and investigative abilities
- Knowledge of fare revenue protection, ticketing, fare rules, and GDS systems (IATA qualification preferred)
