A reputed catering and food service operation in the United Arab Emirates is currently hiring an experienced Storekeeper with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Job Purpose
The Storekeeper is responsible for handling, recording, and monitoring all incoming and outgoing materials used in catering operations. This includes food items, consumables, and non-food supplies. The role ensures correct storage, stock rotation, hygiene, and documentation in compliance with HACCP standards and company procedures to avoid shortages, wastage, or operational delays.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inspection
- Receive food and non-food deliveries as per purchase orders
- Verify quantities, expiry dates, and product quality
- Report damaged goods or discrepancies immediately
- Ensure all delivery notes and invoices are properly signed and recorded
Storage & Organization
- Store items in appropriate areas (dry store, chiller, freezer)
- Follow FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry First Out) methods
- Label, date, and stack products correctly to prevent contamination
Stock Issuance & Control
- Issue materials to kitchen and service areas based on approved requisitions
- Maintain daily stock movement and issue logs
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels
- Inform management when reordering is required
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate stock cards or ERP system entries
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports
- Assist with physical stock counts and reconciliation
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness in all store areas
- Monitor cold room and freezer temperature logs daily
- Follow pest control, waste management, and cleaning schedules
- Ensure compliance with HACCP / ISO 22000 requirements
Coordination & Teamwork
- Coordinate with kitchen, procurement, and logistics teams
- Assist in loading and unloading deliveries
- Support internal and external audits when required
Job Requirements & Skills
Candidates must possess the following:
- 3–5 years of experience in storekeeping (catering or food service preferred)
- Strong knowledge of inventory control systems
- Good understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
- Experience using ERP systems, SAP, Oracle, or Excel-based tools
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Basic numeracy and documentation abilities
- Physical fitness to handle warehouse activities
- Clear communication skills with chefs, suppliers, and logistics staff
