Job Purpose

As a Supervisor Airport Services – Baggage Services, you will provide strong leadership and independent decision-making to ensure consistently high-quality baggage services. The role requires strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emirates Airport Services (EKAS) goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and company safety and security standards. You will also play a key role in mentoring team members, especially new joiners, and ensuring smooth real-time operations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising teams and maintaining service excellence. Your core duties include:

• Ensuring full staff availability, particularly during peak operational hours, and escalating shortages to resource allocators when required
• Supporting, coaching, developing, and motivating team members to maintain morale, discipline, and grooming standards
• Guiding staff in delivering superior customer service in line with SOPs and EKAS standards
• Conducting and contributing to staff performance evaluations and creating development plans for frontline employees
• Identifying operational or system gaps and recommending corrective measures to improve service quality and on-time performance
• Working proactively with your team to reduce complaints and generate positive customer feedback

Specific Responsibilities – Baggage Services

The baggage services function is a critical area of airport operations. As a supervisor, you will:

• Ensure passengers with mishandled baggage are assisted professionally and promptly upon arrival
• Oversee the raising of Property Irregularity Reports (PIRs) and ensure customers receive regular updates on missing baggage
• Manage baggage stores, PIR counters, call centers, and delivery counters to meet peak demand efficiently
• Coordinate with Customer Affairs, dnata Airport Services, Emirates head office and outstations, Group Security, and other departments to resolve baggage-related issues
• Approve interim relief payments in line with baggage compensation policies and manage petty cash responsibly
• Ensure unclaimed baggage is updated in the WorldTracer system within four hours of arrival and stored safely according to security and customs regulations
• Monitor primary baggage tracing and ensure thorough action before escalation to the Central Baggage Tracing Office

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Proven experience in airport operations
• Supervisory experience in customer service, preferably with a major airline
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
