Role Overview
The Warehouse Helper plays a vital role in supporting day-to-day warehouse operations. This position is essential in maintaining smooth inventory flow, ensuring all goods are correctly received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched to meet store requirements. Working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Helper ensures that products move through the warehouse efficiently and safely while consistently maintaining accuracy and organization.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inbound Operations
Warehouse Helpers assist with unloading goods from suppliers, checking quantities, and identifying any discrepancies. They help in labeling, sorting, and placing items in designated storage areas while ensuring that all receiving documents are properly completed. Their attention to detail ensures that stores receive the correct products on time.
Picking, Packing & Outbound Operations
The role involves picking items based on store orders or online requests with 100% accuracy. Warehouse Helpers must pack products safely to avoid damage during transit. They also help with staging, loading, and dispatching shipments according to delivery schedules. Timely replenishment of stock to retail outlets is a critical part of this responsibility.
Inventory Management
Warehouse Helpers participate in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory counts. They maintain cleanliness, ensure proper stock rotation through FIFO/FEFO methods, and report any shortages, excess items, or damages to the Warehouse Supervisor. Accurate inventory management directly supports store operations and profitability.
Warehouse Housekeeping & Safety
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse is a top priority. The Warehouse Helper uses equipment such as pallet jacks, trolleys, and ladders safely and follows all safety protocols, including PPE use and equipment handling. Reporting hazards promptly ensures a safe working environment for all staff.
Support for Warehouse Supervisor
Warehouse Helpers carry out operational tasks assigned by supervisors, help in reorganizing storage spaces, and contribute to efficiency improvements across the warehouse. Their teamwork and positive attitude help maintain a productive workflow.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school certificate or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse, logistics, or retail operations
- Basic understanding of warehouse procedures
- Ability to lift and move heavy items
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physically fit, reliable, and punctual
